Systemic Psychotherapy

CMTF: Systemic family,
individual, couple and group therapy

The Milanese Centre of Family Therapy (CMTF) was founded by Luigi Boscolo and Gianfranco Cecchin in 1981 following a decade of fruitful collaboration with Mara Selvini Palazzoli and Giuliana Prata. Indeed Luigi Boscolo and Gianfranco Cecchin coined what is known and widely studied, both in Italy as in the rest of the globe, as the “Milan Approach”: a systematised method of therapeutic conduct to be followed in family therapy encounters as well as a guide to the therapeutic process. In their later years they took centre stage in the reconstruction of the systemic thought. Exactly, through second Order cybernetics, constructivism and social constructionism that lead to the creation of a systemic approach that is built with the inidivdiual as well as one that focuses on the prejudices and the emotions lived by the therapist.

The Systemic Psychotherapy Centre associated to CMTF is constituted by a team of psychotherapists that all carry out their clinical practice in the headquarters of Via Leopard, in Milan.
